Greetings To all Salvation Aspirants!

Thank you for visiting. This portion of our private forum is open to anyone and everyone who has an interest in our faction. The purpose of this is to allow interested players a chance to see what we are all about in an anonymous and low-pressure fashion so you can decide if you’d like to become a member of our family. We hope that you’ll join us, but if what you read does not impress you then at least you know without feeling like anyone tried to coax you into joining something you did not understand.

Salvation is an in-game faction or “guild” on the Heaven’s Tear PVE server composed of players who are active and fun-loving. Yes, every guild in this game says that it is helpful, generous, caring, etc. and most of them probably are! We aren’t even making the claim that we are “better” in any way than any other faction. In fact we have some members in our guild who are active participants in other guilds with their main or alternate characters. That is perfectly okay with us. We have no hostility or animosity towards the rest of the community and will respect your loyalty to others as long as you likewise show us the same courtesy.

Our membership is growing slowly, and we intend to keep expanding at a reasonable rate from this point forward so that we can eventually participate in Turf Wars effectively, but no member of our family is required or expected to play the Turf Wars game withus if they choose not to. Anything that you do in our faction is up to you as a person to agree to. We have no hardline requirements you must meet beyond the following.

Level: We ask that your character be at minimum 19th level because characters of a lower level than this really don’t need guild support to succeed, and should be concentrating on learning their roles as an individual before joining a faction. This is not a condition we’ve set to keep people out who are inexperienced, but rather a simple reality of the game itself. Feel free to seek our assistance with your Call of Duty Quest around level 19 and perhaps we can get to know you that way if you prefer.

Class/Race: We accept all races and classes right now. Yes everyone wants certain types of characters for doing territory wars, and we are of course interested in attracting those classes like any other guild, but honestly we’d rather have a player who enjoys his or her character than one who is laboring to be something they don’t like just to stay in the guild.

Conduct: You must be willing to abide by our three guild rules. These rules are not, and never will be, tools to control or abuse you as a person and player in the game. They merely outline for you what we as a family have voted and agreed upon as being a reasonable foundation for our progress and vision. Please read them and hopefully you’ll see what we mean.

The Articles of Salvation

The following three simple lines fully explain what should be expected from any member of Salvation. They are not intended as an attempt to exert control over you or to impose an overarching government standard by which you must abide. These rules merely outline for you what Salvation is about, and how you as a member or officer can best serve our cause.

Be Courteous

Be Supportive

Be Vocal

An expanded explanation of these concepts can be found below. If you are curious or simply need more detail then please read on. Otherwise skip ahead and post your application!

On Being Courteous

Treating others within and without of our guild is of paramount importance. The game world has plenty of loud-mouthed, kill-stealing, rude and inconsiderate people already. We are not those people. We do not bring those people into our faction. When you are in the company of your guild mates you should feel comfortable and at ease. If you do not then we need to know why as soon as possible so that we may correct that injustice.

Likewise if you mistreat people outside of our faction and our leadership hears about it you’ll meet a similar fate. Make our faction look good so others will want to join us. You are all goodwill ambassadors to the rest of the world, and we rely on you to maintain our positive image. If you made a mistake and someone is accusing you of something that you cannot help or did not do then please let one of our officers know before we get blindsided with angry personal messages. You are one of us and we’ll back you if you’re being picked on. Just be honest and do your best to avoid such things.

Profanity in the Guild Channel: Although touched on above this particular point often draws the ire of some. Firstly let us be clear that occasional colorful language is fairly normal and for the most part nothing any normal adult should be too concerned about. We are not going to banish you from the faction if you make a mistake or slip up a bit in guild chat. We are all human and nobody is perfect, but if you continually make other members uncomfortable or incite arguments without any real productive reason for doing so, then you’ll be asked to leave for the benefit of our other members.

Before anyone starts quoting the first amendment here please take into account that nobody anywhere ever gave their life to protect your right to spout off dirty words into the guild channel of a video game. While it is very true that many noble men and women have and still are dying or suffering to protect our freedoms, it is insulting and ignorant to merely abuse those freedoms at the expense of others. The guild channel is for everyone of every age group. Use a personal chat to get across a “stronger message” if the need arises. We appreciate and support your right to free speech, but likewise hold the same regard for our other member’s rights to the pursuit of happiness, which might be compromised if the guild channel doesn’t remain at least a PG13 rated public channel.

On Being Supportive

As a member of this guild you have a right to expect your guild mates to help you when you need it. You are likewise encouraged to assist others when they need help. The higher you get in levels the more assistance you’re going to need. Start building friendships with your fellow members now and things will be much more fun later on.

If you want the guild to enter into territory wars then be prepared to contribute coins to the war chest. Territory wars are expensive affairs and no single officer or member can rightly be expected to fulfill that cost. If you have a few coins to spare then donate it as per the treasury thread. If you cannot afford it that’s okay, we understand, but it is an unfortunate necessity of the game that the faction must gather coins before it can gather territory.

Don’t focus on flaws that cannot be helped. If you have a negative opinion of someone or their character’s race or class then just keep it to yourself. It is impolite and pointless to put people down, and such things really are beneath you when you are a member of Salvation. We love all of our members and will not be happy to see anyone made to feel bad about themselves.

On Being Vocal

Speak up about things you agree or disagree about where faction matters are concerned. This is not a dictatorship. We vote on important issues and you have a right to question the way things go. Try to do so politely and constructively, but don’t sit there and feel like your input isn’t needed. We want to hear from you! You might have a stunningly brilliant idea nobody ever thought of. And always remember that there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you didn’t know the answer the odds are high that someone else didn’t either.

Another important thing to point out here is that members who need help from the guild must ask for it. We cannot really know if you’re ready to do your FB quest unless you tell us. If it is time to kill the Dismal Shade then point that out to us. Getting help with group quests is a very good reason to join a guild, and if you don’t take advantage of that by speaking up then you are cheating yourself and possibly others who need the same quest. Please make sure that one of the officers knows you need help and we will see to it you are cared for. We really do want you to succeed here. You might be asked to wait until we can form a suitable team to take on the challenges ahead of you, but rest assured it is important to us all that you are safe and happy within our faction.

Guild Dues

As of May 16, 2009, a new rule has been put into place. The following is a new requirement that we ask of our members in order to help Salvation grow and achieve all the things that the majority of our faction is hoping for.

A dues system has began as of May 16, 2009.

A weekly dues is required by level, as you grow in level so does the amount that we ask you to give to the guild, all amounts have been decided to be fair according to player's levels and player being fairly active. For those who are less active there is an alternative available.

Level 19-29 - 3,000 weekly
Level 30-39 - 5,000 weekly
Level 40-49 - 7,000 weekly
Level 50 + 10,000 weekly

If you have any alts in the guild you are asked to pay half this amount for your alt each week including the standard amount for your main character. If you are not active enough to be able to pay these amounts without hurting your character's progress, then we ask you to take a little bit of time to gather herbs and materials to give to the guild's item vaults. This helps greatly as well. Of course even if paying the dues is not a problem to you, if you are willing to collect items for the vaults as well, it is very greatly appreciated.

We apologize for having to make this mandatory, however simply asking to give what you can when you can was just not working. Without everyone working together towards the same goals, those goals will never be met.

How To Join Us

When you are ready to apply to join the Salvation Faction, please post an “application” to this thread so that we can read about you, and then notify one of the following members of our guild so that we will be able to approve your induction. Greetings and salutations!

I am a 51 yr yng gamer currently running 4 toons in PW. I am inquiring about membership for WitlessSorr, a 64 veno who is dying in her present home. Closest level to me is 50 and it gets lonely at the top. My 38 cleric will continue to hold director's position within that guild.

I have been an avid gamer (console) for years, primarily race, fps and rpg. Have completed Morrowind and Oblivion twice each, and still play Tiger Woods with my wife on a regular basis. She runs 3 toons in PW, so I am twice blessed. I run 7 toons in Guild Wars and even though they miss me, always glad to say hi! Have recently loaded Oblivion on this comp and play around with Half-Life.

I agree that courtesy and respect should be paramount to successful gameplay. First guild I was in with PW dragged a lot of outside crap into the mix, making it unpleasant for all. I have a lock on smartaleck, but I am not offensive, degrading, or otherwise nasty. I am glad to read that the officers WANT input.

I am at the point where I need to be the student again. I have a good memory and pay attention - I like learning the secrets to successful boss kills! Recently had my first TT run - died 7 times but what an education! Have done 4 more since and look forward to much more loot. I hear TW is awesome, so eventually.... PK doesn't really interest me, but the secrets....power items, trolling for molds, everyone's recall for good farming spots, general info I can't get from anyone in my guild. Last but not least is the whole sharing concept - as it should be. Everyone should look out for everyone else - we all started as a lvl 1 noob in SOME game. Hard to keep everyone to an honor system unless they are willing to cooperate, but enough eyes can make the greedy quite uncomfortable.

I think I'd fit in here, so I await your answer. Have fun and kill something for me!
